Thank you Highland Park! More than 70 households have enrolled in Community Solar through Trajectory Energy Partners and Clearway. We kicked off our Community Solar Campaign in April of 2020 by offering webinars to help you learn about supporting clean, Illinois-based solar energy. As solar farms were being built across the state, we shifted to webinars hosted live at the solar fields to share views of your future panels. Some pretty amazing guest speakers updated us on solar legislation on both state and national levels, including State Representative Robyn Gabel and former Chief of Staff at the Department of Energy for President Obama, Brandon Hurlbut. Go Green Highland Park is grateful to all the subscribers for your support of local environmental work and renewable energy in our beautiful state and to Clearway Energy and Trajectory Energy Partners.

In addition to these incredible environmental benefits, we’re pleased to share 10% of all proceeds with the Highland Park Community Foundation. Thanks to the generous donation  made by Trajectory for each subscription, we are proud to make a $500 donation to this fantastic organization.

While the Go Green HP community solar project is now closed to subscribers, the City of Highland Park is also offering a community solar program to residents. If you’re interested in learning more about community solar, check our Energy Use page.

Impact calculation based on the estimated 9030 kWh of solar production in year 1. For more information about this calculation visit the EPA Greenhouse Gas Equivalencies Calculator

Here is a photo of the first Clearway project to be completed.  It’s located in Boone county and is fully subscribed. Most of the subscribers are from Wilmette and Highland Park and also includes Northwestern University.
