Join Sandy Washburn, Master Gardener and President Lake-to-Prairie Wild Ones and Matt Tobin, knowledgable and active birder on the board of Lake County Audubon Society, to learn about the many apps and online resources to help the native gardener plan, manage and enjoy their spaces. Included are resources to identify plants, insects, fungi, birds and more. Also included are resources to help make the native space more useful to the ecosystem. Most of these resources are free!

There’s an App or Online Resource for That! introduces a number of apps and digital resources that help avoid mistakes and create gardens that welcome birds, pollinators, fireflies, butterflies and more to our yards, while avoiding the harmful chemicals and polluting practices that are required by the traditional American lawn. Whether you are new to native gardening or an experienced veteran, there are resources to help you

• choose plants with high environmental value
• choose plants that are appropriate for your region and the conditions in your space
• identify plants, fungi, insects and birds
• use native plants to protect and support wildlife
• plan and create a beautiful, successful project
• enjoy the birds and visitors that find your garden 

The public is invited to the monthly meetings of the Lake-to-Prairie chapter of the Wild Ones, a national not-for-profit organization that promotes the use of native plants in landscapes. 
Registration is required.
